Apartment & Condo Movers in San Jose | Jerry Wood Moving

Coverage certificate, freight-elevator windows, loading-bay and curb access all handled across San Jose high-rises and walk-ups.

Inside a condo or an apartment, it is the logistics, not the furniture, that decide how the day goes, and San Jose makes that a genuine puzzle. We pull these every week, from garden blocks out in Berryessa and along Capitol Expressway to the high-rises piled downtown and through North San Jose by the campuses. Moving the furniture is the simple half. The complicated half runs through the insurance paperwork, a reserved freight-elevator window, and a front office that keeps the truck back from the loading bay until that file lands.

All of that falls to our team. We get your coverage certificate to management early at zero cost, book the freight elevator or the rear entrance for your time block, and lock down loading-bay access along with a length of curb so the truck is not looping the block. The crew pads the elevator car and runs floor cover across the lobby, because handing a building back without a scratch is how your deposit comes home. The mover under your sofa is one of our trained W-2 people, not a stranger flagged off a dawn labor line, and a den loaded with displays gets the same careful wrapping we would hand crystal.

Climbs, towers, and narrow San Jose halls

Many of the older addresses by downtown and Japantown have no elevator whatsoever, and carrying up to a fourth-floor unit is simply part of the day for our crew. We field enough people that a long stairwell pulls more muscle and the rhythm stays quick instead of draining your hours. High-rise or walk-up, the carry gets scheduled around the wet months, since muscling a couch across an open breezeway in a January cloudburst serves nobody. A gun vault destined for the fifth floor is exactly the grind our name was built on.

What an apartment job leaves out

A small set of items sits beyond the base move. Anything the building bills you, an elevator deposit it charges for instance, lands on them and not on us. No dangerous freight, no potted greenery, no animals come aboard. And any outsized specialty piece, a vault or a grand, takes a separate spot on the quote so the right rigging turns up and the bay holds no shocks.

Apartment pricing

Pick hourly, truck and equipment included, where a pair runs $150/hr, three go $200/hr, and four sit at $260/hr, the carrying and the elevator baked into the plan from the outset. Or lock a flat figure: a studio near $480–$720, a one-bedroom $720–$1,150, a two-bedroom $1,150–$1,950. Not a cent buried for building entry, and $1M of cargo coverage on each load.

What Folks Around San Jose Say

Almaden Valley · Google
★★★★

“Moved us from Almaden Valley down to LA. The same crew loaded in San Jose and unloaded at the new place, which I really liked, and the binding quote held. Communication on the delivery day could have been a little tighter, I had to call to get the ETA, but the guys were friendly and everything arrived in good shape. Fair value for a long-distance move.”

“We have a baby grand that's been in the family for years, and I was nervous about moving it across Evergreen. Diego brought the right ramp and straps and the crew got it down a flight of stairs and onto the truck like they'd done it a hundred times. The rest of our 2-bed was easy for them after that. Not a mark on the piano.”

“Local 3-bed move within Japantown, done right. On time, well organized, and the crew was respectful of the house. Loved that the price was flat and written down up front. No surprises, no upsell.”

Berryessa · Google

“I run my business from home and was terrified about moving my dual-monitor setup, the NAS, and all the cables out of Berryessa. Sam's team labeled everything, boxed the electronics in proper padding, and even bagged and tagged the cords by desk. I was back up and working the next morning with nothing missing. These folks get that a home office isn't just furniture.”

Questions About This Service

Do you handle my building's certificate of insurance?
Yes. Most San Jose high-rises downtown and in North San Jose require one, and we send it to management early at zero cost. Hand over whatever the property lays out and it is taken care of.
Who books the freight elevator and the loading bay?
We do. We pin down the elevator window, the rear entrance, and the bay through your property contact, landing the truck and crew on site the instant entry opens. Coordinating it comes with the booking.
My building has no elevator at all. Can you still pull it off?
No trouble. Stair-only addresses are bread and butter for us, and carrying up four or five flights is ordinary. We add people to hold the rhythm, and the figure stays fair given the climb plus the carry.
What protects my deposit?
We pad the elevator car, run floor cover across the lobby, and ease every piece through the doorways. Handing a building back without a scratch is what keeps your deposit whole, so we make it a matter of pride.
